Here is a classic journey to the exceptional Lapland and North Cape. Come and visit the North with its endless variety of experiences. Start your adventure with a stay in the tough Lapland where you can come close to the nature in the country of 8 seasons and the Midnight Sun. See the Arctic Cathedral in Tromsø with its impressive architecture and experience the charm of the biggest city north of the Polar Circle. The highlight of this tour is the majestic North Cape cliff, where you have the chance of seeing the natural phenomenon, The Midnight Sun. It is an unforgettable experience to watch as the sun sinks towards the Arctic Ocean but never quite disappears.

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN LAPLAND

Arrival with flight in Rovaniemi or Kittilä. You have now arrived in the land of the Midnight Sun that starts north of the Polar Circle. Continue to Saariselkä where you are staying for 2 nights. This gives you a lot of time to explore this area. On the way you can visit the gold prospecting village Sodankylä. Lapland Hotel Riekonlinna.

Day 2: LAPLAND

Today is free at your own disposal. A possibility would be visiting a Husky Farm where you will be met by a herd of joyful and friendly Huskies. Another activity could be to visit a Reindeer Farm where you will come close to these wonderful animals. For many centuries they have played an important role in the Sami culture. But if you would rather learn more about the Sami culture then you should visit Siida Museum. Here you will be given a tour that gives insight into the Sami culture and the Arctic nature. If you are more interested in the nature part, then we recommend a boat tour on Lake Inari.

If you wish for a different experience, then you can exchange your hotel dinner with a 3-course dinner at the Husky Farm.

Day 3: SAARISELKA/HONNINGSVÅG (423 km)

Your Arctic adventure continues to the highlight of the tour. Drive along the holy lake of the Sami, Lake Inari and through the Norwegian Finnmark. Continue along Porsangerfjord to the North Cape Island Magerøya. Then you will go on an evening excursion to the more than 300-meter-tall North Cape where you have a fantastic view over the Arctic Ocean. Scandic Honningsvåg.

Day 4: HONNINGSVÅG/ALTA (207 km)

Leaving North Cape and driving towards Alta. On the way you can do a detour to Hammerfest. Afterwards you continue to Alta where you can see the 6.000 years old rock carvings. They are on UNESCO list of World Heritage Sights. We recommend visiting the Northern Lights Cathedral in Alta. The Cathedral is the result of an architectural competition in 2001. Thon Hotel Alta.

Day 5: ALTA/TROMSØ (544 km incl. 2 ferries)

The journey now takes you the charming city of Tromsø. It is possible to do a photo stop at the viewpoint Kvænangen. To get to your next stop you will take two small ferries. Tromsø is especially known for its Arctic Cathedral where you can go to midnight concerts. But the city also has the most northern brewery, a variety of restaurants and yearly cultural events. It got its name “The Arctic Capital” due to the city being the starting point for numerous polar expeditions. The Polar Museum in Tromsø is dedicated to these expeditions. Scandic Grand Tromsø.

Day 6: TROMSØ/SIRKKA (418 km)

This next part of the tour takes you deep into the heart of Lapland when you drive along the borders between Sweden and Finland. Sirkka is located north of the main city Kittilä which is a very popular winter destination. It is well known for its winter sports. Break Sokos Hotel Levi.

Day 7: SIRKKA/ROVANIEMI (168 km)

You will end your tour in Rovaniemi, the capital of the Finnish Lapland. Rovaniemi is also known for being the official hometown of Santa Claus. Therefore, we have arranged entrance to Santa Claus Village. Here you will find entertaining activities and stores with true Christmas spirit. Send a letter home and receive a unique post stamp on the letter. Sokos Hotel Vaakuna.

Day 8: JOURNEY HOME FROM ROVANIEMI

After breakfast you will be leaving Lapland and return home with a lot of new experiences. Return home arranged by you.
